PSG Players Are Becoming Frustrated With Neymar's Privileges

Neymar's barely been a Paris Saint-Germain player two minutes and he's already courted enough controversy to last him through until the end of his contract at the Parc des Princes.

The Brazilian has been at odds in the media with former employers Barcelona, has clashed with strike partner Edinson Cavani over who takes set pieces, was sent off during last weekend's game against Marseille and it's now being reported that several PSG players are losing patience with the preferential treatment the world's most expensive player has been receiving since he arrived in the French capital.

French newspaper Le Parisien has today revealed that PSG's players have been told to take it easy on the Brazilian in training, while Neymar also doesn't have to bother with defensive duties, despite other attackers having to do so in training matches.

In addition to this, the 25-year-old has had two personal physiotherapists appointed to tend to him after each game and has even been allowed his own, self chosen branded bag and sponsor, while the rest of the PSG team must use official club products.

In Neymar's defence, so far, in his 11 games for the Parisians, he has delivered the goods, scoring 10 times and helping fire PSG to the top of Ligue Un, four points clear of champions Monaco while also helping Unai Emery's men to a 100% record in the Champions League, with three convincing wins over Celtic, Bayern Munich and Anderlecht.

Add to this the enormous deluge of revenue the former Brazil captain will generate for PSG in shirt sales and various other merchandising opportunities, and you can begin to understand why the PSG hierarchy are going so far out of their way to protect their greatest ever investment.

However, given that Cavani has scored 13 goals in 13 games, including the point saving free-kick against Marseille at the weekend, after Neymar's dismissal had put PSG at a disadvantage and also the fact that £160 million teenager Kylian Mbappe has been tearing it up (with the exception of an under par performance in Le Classique on Sunday) since his arrival from Monaco, and you wonder how long they will put up with the pampering of Neymar before they begin to make the same demands.

Who knew throwing £200 million at a 25-year-old and giving him absolutely anything he asked for could cause so many problems?
