Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly discussing a stunning swap deal involving Gareth Bale and Neymar plus cash after the Welsh superstar was deemed surplus to requirements at Real Madrid.

Bale, who signed for Real in a world-record move in 2013, was left out of the club's pre-season defeat to Bayern Munich and after the game Zinedine Zidane revealed after the game that the club were hoping to offload him imminently.

And PSG have emerged as a surprise suitor, with Miguel Delaney from The Independent reporting that there is momentum behind the idea of a trade between the two and that sources close to Neymar say a potential deal has been talked about in recent weeks.

It was thought that the Brazilian had his heart set on a return to Barcelona but it seems as though he is so desperate to leave PSG after two years that he would even settle for a move to rivals Real.

Also in the aforementioned piece it states that Bale's teammates at Real Madrid feel as though he is being pushed towards the Chinese Super League - with Beijing Guoan apparently prepared to make him the highest-paid player in China.

Bale, however, is not keen on heading to the Far East and this potential swap deal, would appear to be the best solution for all parties.

Meanwhile Bale's representative, Jonathan Barnett, has hit back at Zidane for his comments about the 30-year old and says the ball is in his client's court.

"Zidane is a disgrace to speak like that about someone who has done so much for Real," he told BBC Wales.

"If and when Gareth goes it will be because it is in the best interest of Gareth and nothing to do with Zidane pushing."

Thoughts on Neymar and Bale potentially heading into the opposite direction?

Sound off in the comments.
