Paris Saint-Germain owners Qatar Sports Investments (QSI) are ready to expand its sphere of influence in football after reportedly being linked with the purchase of an English club.

According to the Daily Telegraph, the QSI are looking to replicate the success that they have had with the Ligue 1 side in France and would want a club that could be playing a big role in the Premier League.

It is reported that the PSG owners would turn their attention to a club in the Championship, mainly for the fact that it could help spur them into the Premier League picture and they would already have an established following.

The French media are reporting that there are three clubs already on their radar, with those teams being Aston Villa, Nottingham Forest and Queens Park Rangers.

One would only need to look at the QSI's acquisition of PSG to show the impact it has had on France's domestic football.

Since the purchase of the reigning Ligue 1 champions back in 2011, the QSI appointed Nasser Al-Khelaifi as president of the club and backed different managers with plenty of funding in the transfer windows.

PSG have released funds from their war chest for the world-record transfer of Neymar from Barcelona for a fee of €222m, while they also snapped up Kylian Mbappé from Monaco for €180m.

Which English club should QSI buy?
