Another big name has joined China's footballing revolution.

The likes of Carlos Tevez, Oscar and Axel Witsel have all moved to the Chinese Super League in recent weeks, following on from high-profile movers such as Hulk, Graziano Pelle, Jackson Martinez, Ramires and Alex Teixeira.

And now Ricardo Carvalho, a Premier League winner on three occasions with Chelsea, has joined the league by following Brazilian internationals Oscar and Hulk to Shanghai SIPG - managed by former Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas.

That's a lot of ex-Chelsea presence at Shanghai SIPG.

Carvalho, 38, was recently released by French side Monaco and has now joined SIPG on a free transfer - a bit unusual for the crazy sums those in the Chinese Super League are seemingly content to fork out.

Villas-Boas is well aware of what the Portugal international can bring to the table, having worked with him when he was a coach at Chelsea under Jose Mourinho.

Despite his age, Carvalho can definitely still contribute in some way.

He played his part in Portugal's Euro 2016 success, making three appearances even though he was the oldest player to feature in the tournament.

A Champions League winner with Porto, Carvalho has signed a one-year deal and is expected to earn around £100,000 a week.
