Phil Jones may have more Premier League titles than Steven Gerrard but his legacy in football will always be his incredible ability to produce the most priceless facial expressions on a regular basis.

Whenever the England international produces a last-ditch block, you can always count on the internet to discover the latest edition in the 'Many faces of Phil Jones' meme collection.

It's such a big trend that even the man himself gets sent pictures of his own face by his mates in a WhatsApp chat - and he's learned to just accept it.

"It's banter, my mates banter me all the time about it," he told Goal in an interview.

"It is what it is. I'm not too fussed about that either. My mates send me pictures every single night on the Whatsapp group taking the mick out of me. It's banter, it is what it is. It doesn't bother me."

The 27-year-old English defender is closing in on a ten-year anniversary of playing for United, having joined in 2011 from Blackburn Rovers.

He's just signed a new contract extension to keep him at Old Trafford until 2023 and would be in with a shout of having a testimonial game.

However, when asked about the possibility of that happening, Jones responded hilariously.

"I wouldn't go that far, there'd be only my mum and dad who would turn up," he said.

Fair play to Jones for not taking himself so seriously. We look forward to his next unintentional face-pulling antics...
