Yaya Toure launched a scathing attack on Pep Guardiola, accusing him of being racist. The Manchester City manager has now responded to those allegations.

The Ivorian lasted two years at Barcelona under Guardiola's managerial tutelage during his Camp Nou reign.

He was eventually offloaded to Manchester City arriving at the beginning of the clubs revolution.

Toure spearheaded City to Premier League triumph.

However, he played just 10 Premier League games, last season.

And following the conclusion of City's record breaking success in the league, Toure issued a forthright interview about Guardiola.

"He was cruel with me. Do you really think he could've been like that with Iniesta? It got to the point I asked myself if it was because of my colour. I'm not the first, other Barça players asked the question too," he told France Football via Matt Spiro

"Maybe us Africans aren't always treated the same by certain people. When you see the problems he (Pep) has often had with African players, everywhere he has been, I ask myself questions.

"He's too intelligent to be caught. He'll never admit it (not liking Africans). But the day he picks a team with five Africans in, I promise I will send him a cake!"

Guardiola has since spoken out, vehemently denying Toure's claims.

"They were lies and he knows it," the Spaniard told TV3 via MEN.

"We were together two years and it is only now when he says it. He never told me face to face," he added.

The Toure-Guardiola feud rumbles on.
