For a good chunk of this season, Dimitri Payet was the most creative player in the Premier League this season when it came to statistics.

The Frenchman left West Ham to return to Marseille in the January transfer window after making it clear that he no longer wanted to play for the Hammers - something that greatly offended fans of the East London club.

But even after moving on, Payet remained at the top of the pile when it came to registering assists and creating chances for teammates.

But now, the 29-year old has been displaced.

Spurs man Christian Eriksen is the most creative player in the top tier of English football, according to data collected by EA Sports.

Using statistics on how assists each player has registered, mixed in with the number of chances created and you have Eriksen as the top dog. He has 10 assists to his name and has created an impressive 78 chances for his teammates - four of which came in the win over Everton at the weekend.

Payet, prior to leaving, had 6 assists and 74 chances created.

Swansea's Gylfi Sigurdsson is level with Eriksen when it comes to assists, as the Iceland international is on 10 and he has created 51 chances, which puts him in seventh place overall in the 'most creative player' rankings.

Kevin De Bruyne orchestrates the majority of Manchester City's attacks and has registered 9 assists this term, as well as creating 71 chances.

Arsenal's Alexis Sanchez also has 9 assists and has created a total of 64 chances for his Arsenal colleagues.
