Most fans at one stage or another have found themselves locked in a Football Manager marathon.

It's one helluva an addictive pass-time for lovers of football and gaming.

The excitement of pulling off that huge coup in the transfer market, building your own dream team, and watching them rise to the top is extremely satisfying for all of us who just simply weren't good enough to make it in reality.

But if you thought your Football Manager addiction was bad, trust me, it's nothing on this guy.

Englishman Darren Bland has been awarded a place in the Guinness World Record's 2017 Gamer's Edition after playing a single game for 154 seasons.

As manager of Italian side Fiorentina, Darren reached the in-game age of 190

The feat means he managed Fiorentina in real time for 173 days, 16 hours and 51 minutes - with the in-game year reaching 2163.

Unfortunately, Darren's time with the Italians came to an abrupt end when he spilt liquid on his laptop.

Darren started playing when he moved home to take care of his mother and treated it like a full-time job.

He bought cheap and sold high, although he did cough up an incredible £105million to sign Luis Tejedor in 2040.

Darren also cheekily applied to be Liverpool's real-life manager at the height of his career, but unfortunately for him the Reds went in another direction.
