Jose Mourinho has broken his silence on Bastian Schweinsteiger's role at Manchester United, emphatically insisting it's his decision who he puts in his squad.

The German World Cup winner joined the club last summer under previous manager Louis van Gaal, but a variety of injuries hampered his first season in the Premier League, and it looks as though his time in England could be over.

Reports surfaced last week claiming that the former Bayern Munich midfielder had been told by new United boss Mourinho that he had no future at Old Trafford, and was free to find a new club.

Despite winning just about every major honour available to him in a trophy-laden career, the 32-year-old has been training with United's reserve squad, and today Mourinho addressed the issue at his weekly press conference:

So, it looks like there really is no way back for Schweinsteiger under the Special One at the Theatre of Dreams.
