Mesut Ozil has paid tribute to Jack Wilshere following the midfielder's decision to leave the North London club earlier this week.
Wilshere has been linked with various different clubs since his announcement on Monday that he'd be departing his boyhood club, after failing to reach an agreement over a new contract with new manager Unai Emery.
He claims he was offered a pay-cut to stay at the Emirates, and was told by Emery that his role would be significantly reduced next season, prompting his decision to look for a new opportunity elsewhere.
The move could result in Mesut Ozil taking on Wilshere's old No.10 shirt, in a decision that would no doubt please a lot of Arsenal fans, but the German international seems genuinely upset to see his old pal leaving the club:
Wilshere has received a number of messages from Arsenal supporters as well as former teammate Santi Cazorla, who rejoined his former club in a bid to seal a contract following a rotten period with injury.

He left a touching message on Wilshere's farewell post.
"Super come with me please, I wish you all the best you are a great player and top man."
Do you think Wilshere has done the right thing by leaving Arsenal? And should Ozil be made the club's new No.10?
