Lionel Messi And Cristiano Ronaldo Are The Only Two Players Involved In 25+ League Goals In 2018/19

Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi are on a whole nother level compared to other players in Europe's top five leagues, with both still going mightily strong domestically this season.

The ludicrously gifted pair of five-time Ballon d'Or winners are the only two players in Europe's big leagues to have 25 or more goal involvements this season.

Ronaldo has taken to Italian football like a duck to water, bagging 19 goals in 24 games and contributing further by laying on eight assists for his Juventus teammates - his latest being for Paulo Dybala's screamer in the 3-0 win over Frosinone, a game he also scored in.

Messi, meanwhile, notched his 22nd La Liga goal of the season from the spot in the narrow win over Real Valladolid last night. He also beats Ronaldo in assisting charts this term, with the Barcelona skipper registering 10 assists.

It's made even more impressive when you consider that Messi has played less minutes because of the arm injury he suffered earlier in the campaign.

According to their average rating each year on Whoscored, via Givemesport, Messi is ahead of the Portuguese and looks set to claim a ninth victory out of 10 as far as stats are involved
