The Argentina squad may currently be boycotting their nation's press, led by Lionel Messi, but it seems as though no one told Manchester United's Sergio Romero, or his wife, and it has infuriated Diego Maradona.
Due to 'grave' reports that emanated from the Argentine media on the eve of the 'Albiceleste's' 3-0 World Cup qualification victory over Colombia, which reported that Ezequiel Lavezzi had been smoking weed at the national team's training base, Messi informed the media that no one from the squad would be talking to them.

However, despite this press ban, Sergio Romero and his wife Eliana Guercio decided it'd be a laugh to appear on Argentinean TV and discuss the boycott and, despite the Manchester United man remaining relatively quiet, his other half was anything but.
Having discovered Romero and his wife's TV appearance, El Diego, speaking to Clarin couldn't contain his emotions:
"If you act as a whole group, that's fine, but here's the problem. Footballers don't speak [to the media], but talk to their wives instead, and I think that's shameful.

"That you give a script to your wife, and then she starts talking about football and tactics and 'he should have been played like this'. No way, it's barbaric.
"I'm saying that with great respect to these women, but if [the players] won't talk, nobody should."
In fairness, Romero has had so little to do apart from keep David De Gea company during United training sessions over the past two years, that he was probably just trying to remind people that he was still alive and playing football.
