Manchester United have a rich history of top class centre halves, with Steve Bruce, Gary Pallister, Jaap Stam, Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand all enjoying glittering careers at Old Trafford during the Premier League era.
And while the latter pair are included on current United defender Phil Jones' list of players he idolised growing up, there's also a man who is a United legend for a slightly different reason who was admired by the former Blackburn Rovers youngster.

John Terry, who's penalty shoot out slip all but handed United the 2008 Champions League, was one of Jones' heroes as a kid, drawing admiration for his heroic style of play, which Jones has attempted to replicate with regular hilarity over the course of his career.
"The three I grew up watching were Nemanja Vidic, Rio Ferdinand and John Terry. It was the desire to defend and put their bodies on the line and doing what they can for the team."

Jones has returned from injury to cement his place in Jose Mourinho's first team in the absence of injured duo Eric Bailly and Chris Smalling, alongside the equally notoriously erratic Marcos Rojo.
