Memphis Depay didn't cut it in the Premier League but he's easily one of the best players in Ligue One - demonstrating just why last night as Lyon ended PSG's unbeaten record at the Groupama Stadium.

The pressure of the iconic No.7 shirt weighed too heavy on him at Old Trafford after he joined for ยฃ31 million in 2015. Memphis showed flashes now and again but scored just twice in 33 Premier League appearances before leaving for Lyon in a ยฃ17 million in January 2017.

He's looked like a completely different player in France, scoring 33 goals in 91 appearances - including a 19-goal league season last term.

The former PSV man has been in fine form this campaign so far, boasting six goals and 12 assists in all competitions.

And his most recent display saw him completely terrorise PSG right-back Dani Alves in the 2-1 win over the league leaders last night, with Memphis playing with a real swagger.

His highlights from the victory have emerged and it's just full of him rinsing defenders and creating chances against France's top side.

There's one touch in particular that is just dripping in spice.

United did insert a buy-back clause when they offloaded him and his performance last night has left many fans wanting him to return for a second crack.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was on scouting duty at the game to check out PSG, United's next Champions League opponents, but he will have surely been impressed by what he saw from the former Red Devils' winger.

The electric form from Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford and Jesse Lingard has lessened the need for someone of Memphis' ilk but surely it won't be long before he gets a move to an elite European club.

"Lyon is a big club, but not one of the five best in Europe," the 24-year old said.

"I want to go to a club like Real Madrid, Barcelona, Chelsea, Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain or Bayern Munich.

"I want to go to a city that suits me and a club that suits me, to a team that really wants to play football, I always talk about Real Madrid, a royal club, white shirts with gold, but I focus on now at Lyon and then we see where I end up."

Do you think Memphis is destined for a second stint at Old Trafford?
