Real Madrid are set to end their pursuit of Christian Eriksen and Paul Pogba and make a move for Donny van de Beek instead.

According to Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf, Ajax director of football Marc Overmars has been alerted to the interest in the Ajax star, 22.

And the 46-year-old retired Dutch footballer will demand at least €50m to €60m for Van De Beek, who came through the Ajax youth academy.

The midfielder had a superb season with the Dutch champions and has also attracted interest from Manchester United, Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur and Barcelona.

But Ajax are expected to remain firm with their asking price as Van De Beek remains contracted with the club until 2022.

Ahead of his time on international duty for the Nations League, Van De Beek said that he was flattered by the interest from Barcelona.

"It's nice that my name is associated with Barça, I have to play better, better and better and we'll see in the future, you never know what can happen," he told Mundo Deportivo.

Eriksen, 27, has been linked with Madrid in recent months and admitted that he wants to leave Spurs in the summer.

"I feel that I am at a stage of my career where I would like to try something new," the Spurs ace told Danish newspaper Ekstra Bladet earlier this month.

"I have the deepest respect for everything that is happening at Tottenham and it would not be something negative to stay. But I have also said that I would like to try something new.

"I hope that something will be decided this summer. That is the plan.

"In football, you never know when there could be a decision like that. It could be at any point. The best thing is always for it to happen quickly, but in football things take time."

Pogba, 26, has also revealed his desire to quit Manchester United amid interest from Madrid and Juventus.

"Like you said, there is a lot of talking and a lot of thinking as well," the French World Cup winner said during a promotional tour in Tokyo.

"For me, I have been for three years in Manchester and have been doing great, some good moments and some bad moments, like everybody. Like everywhere else.

"After this season and everything that happened this season, with my season being my best season as well... I think, for me, it could be a good time to have a new challenge somewhere else.

"I am thinking of this -- to have a new challenge somewhere else."

Madrid have taken their spending close to £300m as Eden Hazard, Luka Jović, Éder Militão, Ferland Mendy and Rodrygo will arrive at the club this summer.
