Thiago Silva has paid the ultimate compliment to Lionel Messi ahead of Brazil's semi-final clash against Argentina.
Messi has been labelled as the greatest player in history ahead of their Copa America showdown.
"For me, Messi is the greatest player in history, the greatest player I've ever seen," the Paris Saint-Germain defender said in a pre-match press conference.
"But now, it's Brazil and Argentina. We'll leave it to admire him in other games ahead."
Messi has had a somewhat quiet tournament though Silva believes he's in store for a difficult game when they meet on Wednesday.
"Every time we face each other, whether in the national team or in the Champions League, it's very difficult to face him," he added.
"No matter how much you study, you will never understand the quality he has and the difference he can make.
"At certain times, he pulls something else out of the hat that you cannot imagine. That's his difference.
"As a centre-back you have to study all the possibilities. We know he always pulls left, but many times he pulls right."
Messi has only scored one goal in four games at the Copa America, but Argentina are one game away from a final.
La Albiceleste beat Venezuela 2-0 to book a spot opposite the tournament hosts.
Brazil, on the other hand, needed penalties to see off Paraguay. They've also endured a difficult campaign but just like Argentina, they're one game away from challenging for a trophy.
