Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo's votes for the FIFA Best Men's Player award have been revealed and they are very interesting.

Every national team captain is afforded the chance to have their say and the two five Ballon d'Or winners' choices have been revealed on the official FIFA website.

Ronaldo picked two of his former Real Madrid colleagues in his top three: Raphael Varane and Luka Modric were his first and second selections respectively, with Atletico Madrid's Antoine Griezmann slotting in as his final pick. There was no place for his rival, Messi.

Messi, on the other hand, did give props to Ronaldo by selecting him third but went for the victorious Luka Modric in first place and World Cup winner Kylian Mbappe in second.

You can check out the comprehensive list of votes here:

Both Messi and Ronaldo were named in the FIFPro World XI but neither were in London to collect their prizes. They will, however, be getting added responsibility as part of a new Ballon d'Or award for the best Under 21 player.

As just announced today, Messi, Ronaldo and numerous other past winners will all help decide the Kopa Award, which is named after the very first Ballon d'Or winner from 1958, Raymond Kopa.
