Leicester City's first team and staff honoured Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha, the former Leicester City owner who tragically passed away at the age of 60.

The Thai businessman was leaving the ground following Leicester's 1-1 draw against West Ham United in a private helicopter when it crashed in the arena's car park and killed five people.

Leicestershire Police's website named two members of Srivaddhanaprabha's staff - Nursara Suknamai and Kaveporn Punpare, pilot Eric Swaffer and passenger Izabela Roza Lechowicz as those who have also lost their lives.

Thousands paid their respects outside the King Power Stadium, with heartfelt messages and condolences continuing to pour in from the footballing community.

Today, Srivaddhanaprabha's family laid a wreath outside the ground and in another poignant show of solidarity, the late owner's son and wife placed another wreath in the middle of the centre circle where his helicopter would take off after every home game.

Vichai's face was displayed on the big screen and several of the players, including Kasper Schmeichel and Jamie Vardy, were visibly upset as they shared embraces with wife and son.

A moving moment occurred at 3:30 am this morning when City fan Dipak Gohil spotted a rare glimpse of a fox outside the ground.

Using a 35mm lense, he caught the animal sprinting across the area where floral tributes are laid out.

An image of a fox was first incorporated into the club crest in 1948, with Leicestershire an area known for foxes and fox hunting. The club then adopted the nickname "The Foxes" and it will forever be a key part of their identity.

Stefan Guillou, who is a resident of Leicester, believes the late owner should be forever immortalised in the renaming of the club's home ground and has created a petition on Change.Org to try and make it happen.

He told SPORTbible, renaming the stadium in his honour would be "a fitting way to thank this man for bringing life back" into the club.

After buying Leicester when they were struggling in the second tier in 2010, Srivaddhanaprabha helped mastermind one of the greatest sporting stories in history when they won the league against all the odds a few years back.

Srivaddhanaprabha would not only pump money into the football club, notably loaning more than £100 million to clear debts, but his generosity toward the city on the whole was nothing short of incredible.

He donated £1 million to Leicester University's medical department, and another £1 million to Leicester Royal Infirmary. He would also hand over £2 million towards a new children's hospital, in addition to providing fans with free beer, free scarves and free cakes during the famous fairytale Premier League title victory in 2015/16.

SPORTbible would like to send out its deepest condolences to Leicester City FC and all those who have been affected by this tragedy.
