Usain Bolt To Have Borussia Dortmund Trial Today

This is actually happening...

Ever been playing Football Manager and felt that you desperately needed to add some electric pace to your attack to counter all the slothful Peter Crouch's leading your front-line?

Sure, you could try and go for Mohamed Salah, but he might be a tad expensive considering he's on course to break the Premier League record for the number of goals in a season; or you could even try and get Craig Bellamy, but you would have to persuade him to come out of retirement.

There is another cheaper option, though. How about giving the fastest man in the world a tryout?

Well, that's exactly Borussia Dortmund are set to do.

The German giants have staggeringly offered speedster Usain Bolt the opportunity to train with them this week, but whether he will be training with the first-team or the reserves is unclear.

The now retired athlete has always admitted that he would relish the chance to transition into football, so when Die Borussen's CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke confirmed that he would allow the sprinter to train with the club, we bet Bolt was jumping - or running really, really fast - for joy.

"It's something that I want to do," Bolt said to goal.com.

"If they tell me I'm good enough and need a bit of training, then I'll do it."

Bolt will get his chance with the German giants tomorrow at 10:30 CET, in a trial that will be available to watch by the public - despite only a limited number of seats on offer.

If he impresses in the session, Bolt will be linking up with fellow Jamaican Leon Bailey, a 20-year-old attacker who is setting the Bundesliga alight this season.

It's not the first time that the Jamaican athlete has been heavily involved in football.

A fanatic Manchester United supporter, Bolt featured as a playable footballer in PES 2018 - but just imagine seeing the pacey athlete bombing up and and down the wing at blistering speed in real life.
