DC United are officially top of the Eastern Conference thanks to a certain 33-year-old striker, who managed to score his first MLS hat-trick in a 5-0 drubbing, last night.
Wayne Rooney, who was made captain against Real Salt Lake, has turned the club's fortunes around after joining in June last year.

DC were rock bottom of the league when he first arrived on the scene, but things are now looking promising three games into the new 2019/20 campaign, with the former Manchester United and Everton forward looking sharp.

There was no doubt that he played a key role in United's success in years gone by, but his stature at Old Trafford was like a piece of glass - a solid exterior but people could see through his flaws.
