Jurgen Klopp: "If I Knew Alisson Was This Good, I Would Have Paid Double!"

Huge praise from Klopp to his goalkeeper...

Jurgen Klopp says he would have paid double the fee Liverpool paid Roma Alisson after seeing his displays this season.

The Brazilian No.1 made the move in the summer when the Reds' splashed out £66.9 million on him, which was a world-record fee for a goalkeeper at the time.

It caused mass debate at the time but Alisson has been in fine form in between the sticks, keeping 12 clean sheets and conceding just 13 goals in 22 games.

Tonight, he made a huge save in the 92nd minute against Napoli to ensure Liverpool qualified for the Champions League round of 16 and his manager reacted hilariously during an interview with Jamie Carragher for Danish TV.

Klopp also told BT Sport's Des Kelly that he had "no idea" how Alisson pulled off the last-gasp stop to deny Arkadiusz Milik.

The Poland striker was played through on goal in stoppage time in what was a massive chance for the visitors.

He controlled the ball superbly but saw his effort from point-blank range denied by the heroics of Alisson, who made himself big.

Some people might say it's straight at him but he's come up with a big save when it matters the most and prevented his side from falling into the Europa League.

Virgil van Dijk's reaction says absolutely everything about it. What a signing Alisson has been so far.
