Ben Foster hit the nail on the head when discussing the saves David De Gea made in his incredible showing against Spurs at Wembley.

At Wembley, the Spaniard denied Spurs on ELEVEN different occasions in the second half - including making out superb saves to deny the likes of Harry Kane, Dele Alli and Toby Alderweireld to preserve United's lead and secure his third Premier League clean sheet of the season.

De Gea received a whole lot of praise for a truly brilliant performance in between the sticks but some were giving the rather lazy 'every shot was straight at him' argument.

And Watford keeper Foster, who played 23 games for United, felt the need to comment on Twitter - noting how De Gea pulls off these saves because of how good he is at anticipating where the ball is going to end up.

Spot on, Ben. People can be quick to overlook how important a starting position is for a goalkeeper, as well as the ability to react instinctively.

De Gea is an absolute master at both and proved it yet again today. He's also utterly brilliant at saving with his feet, with not many goalkeepers around able to make those types of saves he pulls off so easily.

In a moment caught on camera by Sky Sports after the game, United's Juan Mata was in complete disbelief at what his compatriot De Gea had just produced - with his reaction all of watching De Gea make save after save in the second half.

Is De Gea the best in the world?

Sound off in the comments.
