Zlatan Ibrahimovic has featured just twice for Manchester United since his free transfer from Paris-St Germain but Jose Mourinho has already appointed him as vice-captain.

The Swedish maestro will don the armband should captain Wayne Rooney or Michael Carrick not to be on the field of play.

He's no stranger to that responsibility as the 34-year-old frontman led his national team while skippering PSG to many domestic triumphs.

According to an United insider, he's made a big impact since his arrival;

"Some of the other lads, especially the young ones, are in awe of Zlatan. He brings a presence to the place and people look up to him after everything that he has achieved through his career."

"He has experience at the highest level and is seen as an obvious captain when the other lads aren't on the pitch."

After a prolific spell in France, United fans will be hoping he can emulate that form to the Premier League.

Zlatan and Co. are back in action this Sunday when they compete for the first honour - the Community Shield - of the new season against Leicester City.
