Jordan Henderson Has Shared A Story That Sums Up Luis Suarez's Brilliance

There was no stopping the Uruguayan during his time at Anfield

Luis Suarez was so good at Liverpool even wearing boots that were a size too big for him couldn't stop him from scoring.

El Pistolero found the net 82 times in 133 games during his time at Anfield, more than repaying the £22m investment the club made in him when Kenny Dalglish signed the Uruguayan from Ajax in 2011.

Suarez has garnered a reputation for himself as being a player who, despite his theatrics on the pitch, is incredibly resilient and tough, often playing through the pain barrier for the good of his team and seldom missing games through injury.

Suarez is also no stranger to controversy, either...

Nowhere is this more evident than in a story Suarez's former Liverpool teammate Jordan Henderson has recently shared with Liverpoolfc.com.

The Liverpool captain was being interviewed as part of the final episode of LFCTV series Premier League Heroes, when he recalled the time the Barcelona striker didn't let a swollen ankle get in the way of a good free-kick.

"Knocks and niggles didn't bother him, he played through them. [He was] a real warrior. I never saw him in the treatment room.

"I remember one game, his ankle was that swollen he couldn't get his boot on, so he had to go a size up in someone else's boots. He played on and scored an unbelievable free-kick.

"Stuff like that you don't forget. What he does on the pitch speaks for itself. To line up in the tunnel, it'd give you so much confidence as a player knowing that you were going into a game and he was leading at the top. You would react from him and he would set everything off."

Since moving to Barcelona in the Summer of 2014 in a £65m deal, Suarez has continued his ridiculous form in front of goal, finding the back of the net 120 times in just 146 games for the Catalan giants.
