In what is fast becoming one of the Summer's biggest transfer sagas, weeks before the transfer window even officially opens, Jamie Vardy's move to Arsenal has taken a fresh twist.

Originally it looked as though the Leicester forward was a certainty to join the Gunners once Arsenal triggered his £22m release clause, then Vardy decided to leave any decision on his future until after Euro 2016, after receiving calls from Foxes teammates, urging him to stay at the King Power Stadium.

However, it appears Arsenal may have to pay more if they want to sign the Leicester City striker.

Vardy's refusal to make a decision on his future until after Euro 2016 means the price of the striker has gone up by £10million. According to Football Insider, Vardy's original release clause was only available to Champions League clubs and expired on June 3rd, which was the day Arsenal made the bid.

Only time will tell if Arsenal will have to pay more to land their transfer target.
