Jadon Sancho has continued to make a name for himself at Borussia Dortmund, establishing himself as one of Europe's fastest-rising stars in football.

The 18-year-old winger received his first senior England international cap last year, while he has made a brilliant start to the season with the German club.

Speaking to Goal, the former Manchester City youth player said that he used to watch Ronaldinho when he was growing up and wants to his reach level on the pitch.

"I can't really speak for everyone, I can only speak on my situation really. My situation was that I just wanted to play football," he said.

"I've always wanted to be a professional footballer, make people watch me and say 'woah,' like how I used to watch Ronaldinho and go 'wow, I want to be like him one day.'

"Hopefully, I could become that level one day and players will look up to me and say wow."

Sancho wasn't done there. In fact, the Dortmund star added that the 38-year-old Brazilian legend was a "role model" for him.

"The reason behind that is how he just beat people with ease and did things that no-one else was doing at his time. That's why it was him," he explained.

Sancho, whose transfer value skyrocketed last year, has made 33 appearances for Dortmund across his career and scored eight times.

Lucien Favre's faith in the youngster has been rewarded plenty of times already, including the shift that Sancho put in against Hoffenheim last Saturday.

The England international opened the scoring for his club and many described his overall performance as his best for Dortmund, despite the fact that they blew a 3-0 lead in the match.

Favre's men are at the top of the Bundesliga and are five points clear of second-placed Bayern Munich.
