Their players aren't even allowed to wear Nike boots and their World Cup kit wasn't even available to purchase but Carlos Queiroz's Iran have just picked up massive World Cup win in the most dramatic fashion.

In the 95th minute, Morocco substitute Aziz Bouhaddouz headed into his own net from a free-kick to give Iran only their second World Cup win in history, and their first for 20 years.

You have to go as far back as 1998 against USA for the last time they tasted victory in the World Cup finals.


They didn't even have a shot in the second half as they looked to consolidate and contain their opponents but Team Melli now find themselves top of Group B before heavyweights Portugal and Spain lock horns later on.

It was the second last-minute winner in today's World Cup action after Atletico Madrid defender Jose Gimenez rose like a salmon to give Uruguay a winning start and break Egyptian hearts in Group A.

While today's two games were crying out for more quality, you just can't beat a World Cup stoppage time winner.

Bring on Portugal vs Spain...
