Iker Casillas Tweets Video Of His Mistakes In Truly Brilliant Gesture

Here's more proof that Iker Casillas is a top bloke. He's continued to support Loris Karius who remains under intense scrutiny following his mistakes for Liverpool.

The German was at it again during Liverpool's pre-season fixture with Borussia Dortmund. He committed an error in goal which sent social media into overdrive.

He was bombarded with horrific abuse.

The unofficial Goalkeeper Union stood up for him in the shape of Spanish legend Casillas. The ex-Real Madrid stopper posted a heartfelt message to Karius.

"Will this attack on Loris Karius ever end?

"I'm talking about him like so many other goalkeepers. There are many more serious problems in the world f***! Leave the Kid alone! He's also a person. As we all are!"

And he hasn't stopped there.

Casillas has now uploaded a video compilation of his mistakes during his career, accompanied with the words: "Behind each one of us, there is one person. Let him raise his hand who has not ever failed. Learning from our mistakes will make us stronger and accept them more human."

While he hasn't tagged the 25-year-old, it's clearly meant for him.

An incredible gesture, Iker.

As well as Casillas, Mohamed Salah also issued a message to his under-fire Liverpool teammate.

"Stay strong Karius, it has happened to the best of players. Ignore those who hate," he wrote on Twitter.

Karius' Liverpool career remains uncertain ahead of the transfer window closing in around two weeks.

Liverpool have successfully snapped up Alisson Becker from AS Roma for a staggering £62 million, and he'll slot straight between the sticks once he's match fit.

Where does this leave Karius?

Will he play second fiddle to the brilliant Brazilian? Or does his future lie away from Anfield?
