Napoli have reportedly made a sensational move for Mauro Icardi after the Italian club tabled a lucrative deal to lure him away from the San Siro.

The 26-year-old Inter Milan striker's future remains uncertain at the club, following contract talks breaking down and the captaincy being stripped from him earlier this month.

According to TUTTOmercatoWEB, I Partenopei have offered Icardi a €9m salary, which includes additional performance-related bonuses that would be worth up to €2m.

If the Italian club landed the Real Madrid and Barcelona target, then he would become the second highest-paid player in Serie A behind Juventus ace Cristiano Ronaldo.

However, beIN Sports' Tancredi Palmeri has revealed that Inter Milan are apparently looking to sell their former captain to Juventus.

The Old Lady have had an interest in the Argentina international before, with Juventus sporting director Fabio Paratici contacting Icardi's agent and wife, Wanda Nara, last summer over a potential transfer.

The reigning Serie A champions have the ability to open up their war chest to sign Icardi in the summer.

While Icardi has a contract with I Nerazzurri until 2021, he does have a €110m release clause in his current deal that becomes active from 1st July to 15th July.

Considering Juventus splashed out on the signing of Ronaldo last summer, it would not be hard for them to move for one of Europe's highly rated strikers.

Icardi's former agent, Abián Morano, recently spoke out about the impact of Wanda on his life, as well as suggesting that the Inter Milan ace would leave the club.

"Icardi has changed so much since Wanda came into his life," he told Sport.

"Before he was humble, concentrated and so eager to grow and improve. The way he views life has changed in a way that I personally consider to be wrong.

"In all honesty, I am not surprised by what is happening. In the little time I had to work with his wife, I immediately noticed a different attitude. He was isolated. This change in his life can put his sporting future in danger.

"He will certainly leave Inter. I believe, with the right service, Icardi is one of the best number 9s out there and can even compete for the Golden Shoe."

Should Icardi leave in the summer?
