"Ready for the final." The words of injury-stricken Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

The 35-year-old is recuperating in the States following a successful knee surgery. Ibrahimovic ruptured ligament in his knee after landing awkwardly in the Europa League quarter-final against Anderlecht.

He's expected to be sidelined till early 2018 as United fans fear that he may have played his last game in their famous kit, after he continues to be subject to interest from the Major League Soccer.

Since sustaining the injury, Ibrahimovic has missed the final stretch of Premier League games and will miss the Europa League final in his native Sweden.

Despite his absence on the pitch, he'll travel with the squad and will join the celebrations should United claim the European trophy.

But ahead of the showpiece next Wednesday, Ibrahimovic has taken to social media to update his army of fans on his fitness progress.

He posted a video of him walking in a swimming pool accompanied with the words, "Ready for the final."

Unless he's one of the X-Men or something, he's not gonna be playing.

Meanwhile, Jose Mourinho has reiterated that he'll field a youthful side against Crystal Palace in the final league game of the season with an eye on Ajax three days later.

Will United lift their third piece of silverware having already bagged the Community Shield and League Cup?
