Barcelona splashed out in the January transfer window to sign Philippe Coutinho from Liverpool.

The Spanish club put forward a bid that was worth £106m, with different add-ons and clauses included in the deal.

According to the Daily Mirror, Barça have £36m left to pay off to the Reds, but that is all dependent on how the 26-year-old Brazilian performs over the course of his career at the Camp Nou.

For example, one of the clauses in his contract requires Coutinho to make 100 appearances for the club.

Once he hits that milestone, then the La Liga champions will have to pay the Reds £17m. However, the club will be able to pay that fee over the course of four installments totalling £4.4million each.

With the Brazilian international already racking up 29 appearances, Barça have paid the first installment after he reached 25 matches.

It has recently been revealed that the Coutinho deal had a certain arrangement made between the two clubs.

According to the Times' Paul Joyce, Barcelona will have to pay a 'premium clause' of £89m on top of any transfer deal for a Liverpool player before 2020.
