Romelu Lukaku remains subject to an enormous amount of speculation regarding his Everton future, and now Eden Hazard has continued that sentiment with a strange but curious statement.

The Everton striker was pipped by Harry Kane as the Premier League's top goalscorer but the brute Belgium enjoyed a brilliant campaign with 25 goals to his name.

Following his heroics at Goodison Park, talks of a transfer back to West London have increased with Antonio Conte reportedly eyeing up the player as a replacement for Diego Costa.

Just like Lukaku, Costa has also been under mounting scrutiny about his own future. The Spaniard has been heavily linked with a mega money move to the fledgling Chinese Super League.

And just like those two, Hazard is also doing the rounds in the incessant transfer rumour mill. Chelsea's No.10 returned to his best, delivering the goods as he help guided The Blues to another Premier League trophy.

Despite having a contract which keeps him at the club till 2020, it's expected he'll be tabled a new lucrative deal in order to fend off interest from Real Madrid and Paris-Saint Germain.

Hazard and Costa have forged a brilliant strike-force this season. But is it about to come to an end? Image: PA

While conducting an interview with Belgian outlet Het Nieuwsblad, Hazard said the following,"If I sign a contract, maybe there won't be enough money left to get Romelu!"

Before backtracking by saying, "I'm kidding. Whoever comes in, we'll be ready for the new season."

Interesting.

The prospect of losing a key player doesn't phase Ronald Koeman who recalls a moment at PSV.

"In my career, we lost one time Ruud Gullit in PSV and everybody was afraid."

"And we signed other new players and won, in 1988, the championship, the Cup, the European Cup. That is football."

"Of course, you like to keep your best striker, your top scorer, but we also need around that position more productivity. I said before maybe you lose at one side something, but I am not talking about what will happen if he does not stay next season."

Will Lukaku make a sensational return to Stamford Bridge?
