England fans up and down the country can let off a huge sigh of relief because Harry Kane should be fit for the World Cup after the latest update on the injury he picked up at the weekend.

Gareth Southgate's team have as much chance of winning the World Cup this year as a team outside of Manchester City do of winning the Premier League this season, that's the unfortunate truth we must live with.

Check out our England team for Euro 2020, chosen in 2016:

If England are to capitalise on that small chance or even perform better than they have in all recent tournaments then they need all their top players to actually perform to their best level, something that's been missing since Euro 2004.

So the sight of Kane having to come off injured on Sunday against Bournemouth was not a good thing to say the least. Imagine England not having Kane in Russia this summer.

Well fear not because the striker is out for just one month meaning he'll be fit and firing by the time he gets on the plane:

The injury seems to be similar to one he suffered against Millwall during the FA Cup quarter final on March 12, eerily nearly exactly a year to the day of the latest problem, when the 24 year-old missed just three games and was out for four weeks.

This season the former Leicester loanee has bagged himself 24 goals in the Premier League, making him the top tiers joint top scorer with Mohamed Salah, but he may not have too many opportunities to add to the tally.

It wouldn't be an England World Cup campaign without one of the country's best players being injured in the build up with David Beckham and Wayne Rooney previously providing the issues.

Kane won't want to rush his comeback but then again it won't make too much difference.
