Antoine Griezmann refused to celebrate his goal against Uruguay for a classy reason.
France are just one game away from a World Cup final. Belgium stand in their way who advanced to the next round after beating tournament favourites Brazil.
'Les Bleus' booked their spot by defeating Uruguay. Goals from Raphael Varane and Griezmann continue their brilliant Russian adventure.
Griezmann bagged his third goal of the tournament but in very fortunate fashion. Fernando Muslera fumbled the ball into his own net to hand France a two-goal lead.

However, the Atletico Madrid superstar failed to celebrate his long range strike.
We didn't see his customary Fortnite celebration.

Why?
Well, because of Griezmann's deep-rooted admiration and respect for Uruguay. Not to mention feeling sympathetic towards his friend in goal.
"I didn't celebrate because when I started as a professional I was supported by a Uruguayan who taught me the good and the bad in football and I have a lot of respect for Uruguay," he said.
"I was also playing against friends, so I thought it was normal not to celebrate."
Before comparing Uruguay to his club side.

"They're a tough team, like Atletico Madrid. Everyone works hard in attack and defence. It's something I see day in day out and I love Uruguayans and Uruguayan culture, so I have a lot of respect for them."
Class.
France play Belgium on Tuesday night for a place in the World Cup final.
