Seven goals in four days for the Frenchman

While the rumour mill may suggest that he's off to Barcelona in the summer, Antoine Griezmann is doing all he can at the moment to keep himself endeared to Atletico Madrid's fanbase.

The French attacker followed up his hat-trick against Sevilla at the weekend with a stunning four goal performance against Leganes, at the Wanda Metropolitano, last night.

The former Real Sociedad man had been struggling for form throughout the first half of the campaign, which had drawn the ire of small sections of Rojiblancos supporters, who were convinced the France international's mind was elsewhere, with moves to Manchester United, Chelsea and Barcelona all being regularly touted by the press.

But since the turn of the year, the 26-year-old has rediscovered the form which has made him one of the most sought after attacking players on the planet.

Not content with a hat-trick during Atleti's 5-2 rout of Sevilla at the weekend, Griezmann decided to help himself to all four goals during a routine 4-0 romp over Leganes.

Before he'd found the net, the Frenchman was already finding his range, rattling the frame of the goal with a near perfect free-kick.

But it wouldn't be long until Griezmann had his reward, coolly slotting a piercing through ball underneath the onrushing goalkeeper to hand Diego Simeone's men the lead. A few minutes later and Griezmann had his second, this time seeing a free-kick bend inside the frame of the goal rather than against it.

Goals three and four came in the second half, first from an expertly placed centre forward's header and then a clever first time finish from a Diego Costa cross, from the left.

Griezmann's seven goal haul over the last four days leaves the French forward on 20 goals in 33 games for the season, but is this burst of form a leaving present for Atletico fans or a sign that he's looking to stick around for a while longer after the end of this season?
