Joe Hart's nightmare at Manchester City came to a temporary end on Tuesday afternoon after West Ham completed the transfer of the England international on a season-long deal, with the option to make the move permanent for £10 million at the end of the season.

The 30-year-old joined up with the West Ham squad for their pre-season tour of Austria shortly after signing his deal, and in one of his first training sessions for the club, a former Manchester City teammate welcomed him in style.

Zabaleta, who also joined the club from Guardiola's side this summer, smashed a well-hit volley straight into the top corner, leaving Joe Hart with no chance.

After the ball hit the back of the net, Zabaleta joked: "Welcome to West Ham, my friend..."

It has been a long winded transfer, but Hart's move has been welcomed by many West Ham supporters, including co-owner David Sullivan, who expressed his delight at bringing the four-time Premier League Golden Glove winner, to the club:

Speaking to the official West Ham website, he said:

"Joe was absolutely fantastic for us at Birmingham City eight years ago. He is the best goalkeeper I've worked with and I fully expect him to be equally as good for us this coming season.

"I have been working on this transfer for some months and to see Joe wearing a West Ham United shirt is very satisfying. I expect him to be a great player for our club and can't wait to see him in a Hammers shirt at London Stadium for the first time.

"Joe has gone from strength to strength since his season at Birmingham, when he was voted Player of the Year, and it would not surprise me at all if he is in the running for the Hammer of the Year award come next May."

For many, it is a great piece of business, but Gold's comments did not go down well with West Ham goalkeeper Adrian, who reacted angrily on social media:

Will Joe Hart produce the goods at West Ham in the coming months?
