After a difficult second season with Arsenal, Alexis Sanchez looked to have put last campaign's problems behind him with a sterling display against Panama, to help Chile book their place in the Copa America quarter-finals, last night.
The South American champions ran out 4-2 winners at the Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, with Barcelona goalkeeper Claudio Bravo doing his best to dent their hopes by gifting Panama two goals with a pair of absolute howlers.
However, in Sanchez, Juan Antonio Pizzi has a player who knows when to deliver when it matters the most, having scored the decisive penalty in last year's final. And the former Barcelona man didn't disappoint, sharing the goalscoring exploits with Eduardo Vargas.

Both of Sanchez's efforts were superb; the first a thunderous volley and the second a thumping header. A special mention must go to Vargas' second goal, too; a towering header that planted itself perfectly into the bottom corner.
