What is he doing?

He may have been branded a genius for predicting Leicester City's downfall in February last year, but Michael Owen's gaff during BT Sport's coverage of Manchester United vs FC Rostov has left many pondering the same question. Really?

While talking about the Europa League and how much of a difficult competition it is, Owen said that "Liverpool won the trophy last season" and they played some "unbelievably hard teams." during the campaign.

As we know, Liverpool lost to Sevilla in the final, despite Daniel Sturridge scoring the opener.

Here's the clip of Owen, a former Liverpool player, speaking about the 2015/16 Europa League 'winners' Liverpool:

Michael Owen thinks Liverpool won the Europa League last year. Superb stuff :joy:

Owen was involved in another video that went viral earlier this month.

As we all know, Ian Wright is a supremely confident human being, and during an appearance on BT Sport last week, the Gunners icon displayed that confidence to the utmost.

A question was sent into the BT studio which queried, out of the three former Premier League strikers providing punditry; Wright, Chris Sutton and Michael Owen, who had the better left foot. Wright's answer was so emphatic that Sutton or Owen didn't even get a look in:

When you compare the goal scoring records of the three strikers, you can surmise that Wright's confidence is not misplaced.

The former Arsenal and Crystal Palace striker hit a total of 323 club goals in his career, while Sutton and Owen scored 193 and 222 respectively.
