We've previously reported on a lad who played 1000 years on Football Manager. We then discovered a lad who traveled 3000 miles to go and watch Ayr United because he fell in love with Ian McCall's side.

But today, on August 11 2017, we bumped into a true hero of the game.

Meet 21-year-old Joshua Unsworth, a university student from Leicester who became an internet sensation after a picture of him sitting on a ladder went viral.

So here's the story...

Unsworth, who describes himself as a Football Manager addict, plays around 5 hours of the game a day, juggling a university degree with a career at Juventus.

Let me set the scene. Things were going well for Joshua. A victory against Inter Milan lifted spirits in the Unsworth household, but things were about to take a turn for the worst.

A rather upsetting set of circumstances meant that his player was sent off during a league game. The opposition scored the penalty and his Juve side dropped vital points in the title race.

Shaking with anger, Joshua decided to take matters into his own hands.

After a series of complaints to the Football Manager authorities, the 21-year-old received a touchline ban for his actions.

In true 'I'm addicted to Football Manager' fashion, Unsworth decided to sit in the stands - or in this case, an 8ft ladder in his bedroom.

"I'm currently at Juventus in the year 2038" he told SPORTbible. "I've been here for 5 seasons. I've won the league five times and the champions league twice.

"But I kept complaining about decisions in the press conference and after so many warnings, I received a ban!"

His original post has since received over 5,000 retweets in the past eight hours, and even the official Football Manager account got involved in the banter:

"Just taking the ban very seriously", @FootballManager tweeted:

A story of a lad who bravely climbed that ladder of success to achieve his dream of going viral.
