Cesc Fabregas was handed a rare start for Chelsea in last night's Premier League tie against Middlesbrough, and he seized upon the opportunity with a spectacular Man of the Match performance.
The former Barcelona and Arsenal midfielder shone for Antonio Conte's side last night. A tenth assist of the season meant that Fabregas had registered double figures for a sixth Premier League season, nothing anyone else has done before.
In the first half a Fabregas cross was converted by Diego Costa, with many believing that to be the record breaking pass.
However, due to the cross deflecting off Middlesbrough defender Fabio en route to Costa, some fans were claiming the assist didn't belong to the former Barcelona man.
Not long after the final whistle, Sky Sports presenter David Jones broke the news that Fabregas' so called 'assist' was chalked off.

As you can imagine, the Spaniard wasn't too happy about the call.
"What? No chance!," he argued.

The Twitter king also delivered last night.
Here's how Chelsea teammate Michy Batshuayi reacted to the news that Cesc Fabregas had become the first player to assist 10 goals in 6 Premier League seasons.
You can always rely on Michy to provide, even if he's not making too many appearances on the field.
