Pep Guardiola's summer rebuild of Manchester City has continued today, with the club officially announcing the signing of Monaco's 23-year-old left back Benjamin Mendy.
The Frenchman has put pen to paper on a five-year deal at the Etihad stadium and has already joined up with his new teammates in California, after flying out to Los Angeles, yesterday.
City channelled the spirit of the Hacienda days to announce the signing, with a nod to New Order's 'Blue Monday' also included in the official hashtag of #BlueMendy

The France international will set City back £52 million, a world record fee for a defender, eclipsing the £50 million the Citizens parted with to bring Kyle Walker to East Manchester from Tottenham, recently.

Mendy becomes the second player to trade Monaco for City, this summer, following Bernardo Silva to Eastlands, with the Poruguese play maker signing in a £46 million deal, two months ago.
City fans, are you happy with Mendy's arrival or would you rather Pep Guardiola have spent the £52 million elsewhere?
