Even though Cristiano Ronaldo made his return to Old Trafford when Juventus faced Manchester United in the Champions League this month, he showed how much it meant to him when he waved farewell to the Red Devils fans as he walked off the pitch.
It feels like a lifetime ago since the 33-year-old donned a United jersey and electrified the crowd at the Theatre of Dreams. In fact, today marks the 15th anniversary of when Ronaldo scored for United for the first time.
And, of course, he did it from a free-kick.
The Red Devils beat Portsmouth 3-0 in that match, but it was the first of many that Ronaldo would score at United.
The five-time Ballon d'Or winner would play for the club from 2003 to 2009, make 196 appearances and score 84 times.
The rest is now history.
At 33, the former Real Madrid talisman isn't slowing down. Since his summer move to Juventus, he has made a real impact in the Italian league and is already weighing up the competition he faces to reach a record sixth Ballon d'Or.
"I said many times, winning a sixth Ballon d'Or is not an obsession," he told France Football.
"And I do not ask the question in these terms. I already know, in my heart of hearts, that I am one of the best players in history.
"Of course I want to win, this sixth Ballon d'Or. It would be a lie to tell you the opposite. I work for that. As I work to score goals and win games without being an obsession.
"I think I deserve it."
