Marcus Rashford's Manchester United career has not taken off like most people would have hoped for. When the England international burst on to the scene in 2015 for the Red Devils, the expectations continued to rise for the youth academy product.

While Rashford might be in the first team for United, he's failed to secure a regular starting position under José Mourinho.

But not all is lost for the boy wonder, however.

Enter United legend Gary Neville, who has stepped up to provide some valuable advice to Rashford and help him change his fortunes around at the Red Devils

"He is a young player, so it's not the end of the world when he comes in and out of the team and gets shifted positions," he said on the Gary Neville Podcast.

"What he does have to do very quickly in the next 12 to 18 months is establish himself in one position and play 100 games in that position as quickly as possible.

"He plays left, he plays right, he plays centre-forward and he comes off the bench and it's difficult for him.

"He's getting great experience and there is no doubt he's had a great start to his career, but what he doesn't want to do is fall into the category of someone who continues in that mould.

"He's better than that. He really is a big talent."

Rashford isn't missing out on the chance to push his international career to the next level. In fact, Gareth Southgate selected him over the international break for England, with the United forward scoring against Spain and Switzerland.

"I think it was a good thing that he was one of the two players from Saturday who continued tonight [against Switzerland] because he needs football, he needs consistency and he is a big talent," Neville added.

"He will take confidence out of the two games. Sometimes you go away on international duty in good form and come back lacking in confidence.

"He is one of the players who will maybe go back feeling better than when he arrived."

Rashford will reunite with his United teammates ahead of their clash with Watford this Saturday.
