Gianluigi Buffon is set to have a medical with Paris Saint-Germain on Saturday and should he pass, the keeper will be unveiled as the club's new signing on Monday, according to Sky Italia.

The 40-year-old's move from Juventus to a club the size of PSG is testament to his ability, even in his later years.

Buffon, arguably, is the greatest goalkeeper to ever grace the world of football. He is a legend at Juventus and across the world over, thanks to his endless accolades he's won and breathtaking saves he's made.

In 17 years at Juve, Buffon stormed the Serie A and won countless titles, but he could never lay claim to a Champions League trophy.

A World Cup in 2006 would've smoothed over that fact, however.

The player is almost synonymous with Juventus, so it will be strange seeing him in an PSG jersey for next season, in between the sticks at the Parc de Princes.

The veteran goalie has been hailed as one of the greats, with praise flooding in on social media.

It's not clear whether Buffon will be starting for PSG for next season, but given his prestige, and the fact that he choose to move there above other clubs, it appears he will be a first team regular for the Ligue 1 champions.

We just hope to see him on our TV screens for Champions League football.
