Last night, Jordan Pickford proved you can take the lad out of the North East, but you can't take the North East out of the lad.
After making a stunning stop to deny Mario Mandzukic from close range at the end of first half of extra time, the Everton goalkeeper shouted down at the Juventus striker as he lay injured on the turf following the collision.
As seen at the very end of the clip, England's No.1 had no sympathy whatsoever for the Bayern Munich man, with fans picking up on the expletives he hurled at Mandzukic:
Mandzukic also ended up with a very nasty cut on his leg following Pickford's studs catching him.
But ultimately the 32-year old had the last laugh; taking advantage of some slack defending from England's backline to smash home the winner past Pickford in the 109th minute and send his country into their first ever World Cup final, against 1998 winners France on Sunday.
England will now play Belgium for the second time this tournament in Saturday's third place play-off.
