West Ham fans won't be too happy.

Things have changed a lot for West Ham and Dimitri Payet from last season to this. Last night's battering at the hands of Manchester City may be the straw that breaks Payet's back when it comes to his Hammers' future.

Last season Payet was one of the best players in the Premier League. He seemed like a real steal for Slaven Bilic's side and his form earned him a call up to the France squad for the Euros.

His performance in France in the summer that followed on from the domestic season had him linked with a move to Real Madrid, among many other teams.

However this season West Ham are in 13th and would be in a lot more trouble if it wasn't for three wins in a row against three relegation candidates recently.

Last night they were thumped 5-0 by Manchester City in the FA Cup with Payet on the bench and a like on Twitter after the match suggested the former Lille winger is considering his future:

The Frenchman has been strongly linked with a return to Marseille, where the Irons signed him from, and liking a tweet with "time to return home" won't please West Ham fans and the 29 year old quickly unliked it.

This season Payet hasn't reached the heights that he did last term but is still the most important attacking player at the club as they desperately try to sign a new striker.

Last season Payet laid on 12 goals for his teammates and scored nine times but this season he's assisted six times but only scored twice.

He probably wishes he'd moved to the Bernabeu now.
