Kevin De Bruyne has brilliantly responded to Paul Pogba hoping Manchester City suffer the same kind of injury problems as United.

Jose Mourinho has already been dealt with plenty of injury woes. Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Marcos Rojo have only just returned from serious knee injuries, while Pogba came back into the fold following a hamstring injury.

In the meantime, City have opened up a eight point lead over their cross-town rivals, ahead of the Manchester derby this weekend.

Pep Guardiola's team are firing on all cylinders, and unlike his counterpart, has predominately had a fully fit team to call upon, other than the long term injury to summer signing Benjamin Mendy.

Pogba, prior to his red card against Arsenal, is hoping City pick up injuries to key players.

"I hope - and it's bad to say things like this - but I hope they will get some very important players injured like what happened with us," Pogba told BBC's Football Focus via Telegraph.

The French midfielder added: "People don't see this, don't speak about this, but every time we have important players that get injured when there is important games.

"So if that starts happening with them as well maybe we'll get a little difference. A little touch that makes them weaker.

De Bruyne would fit into that category of 'some very important players', and he's responded to Pogba.

"I don't believe in that s***. I'm a very straight forward guy. If someone believes it is karma then OK, everyone has their right to their opinion," he said via Goal.

"I don't want anyone to get injured. It's a competition, you want to play against the best teams and the best players," the City talisman added.

The Belgium ace is consistently producing heroics. From creating to scoring goals. Will he continue his rich vain of form in the Manchester derby?
