David Silva has returned to his native Spain after signing a contract with Real Sociedad.
After ending his glorious 10-year stint with Manchester City, playing his final game in the disappointing Champions League quarter final defeat to Lyon, the World Cup winner was set to move Lazio.
There were reports that Silva was offered a luxury home and private jet as part of the deal, which looked as good as done.

However, Sociedad hijacked the free transfer at the last second to bring the former Valencia man back to La Liga at the age of 34.
The Basque club confirmed the capture of Silva on a two-year deal late on Monday evening.
Silva's next career move was confirmed on the day that he penned an emotional letter to City fans thanking them for their support during his stunning stint in England.
In 436 games as a City player, Silva has scored 77 goals and assisted teammates on 138 occasions, winning four Premier League titles, two FA Cups and five League Cups.

Today City have announced that along with legendary captain Vincent Kompany, their former No.21 will be receiving a statue outside the Etihad Stadium to mark his achievements in Manchester.
He will also have a pitch named in his honour, and there are plans for him to have a proper send-off in front of supporters in the future.
