Not content with a slew of decorated achievements on the pitch, Cristiano Ronaldo is doing the business when it comes to the internet, too.
The five-time Ballon d'Or winner has now become the most followed person on Instagram, overtaking popstar and actress Selena Gomez, who had been at the very top of the 'gram pecking order' for the past two years.
Ronaldo, who posts regularly on his social media accounts, now has over 144 million followers - more than anyone else on the platform.

The 'CR7' brand on the whole is a different animal - with the 33-year old boasting 120 million followers on Facebook as well as 75 million followers on Twitter.
When he announced his move to Juventus on July 16, Ronaldo's Forza Juve' post on Instagram became the fifth most liked post in the app's history.
In just two days, it garnered 11.4 million likes and is currently on 12.2 million at the time of writing.
Ronaldo has scored seven goals in Bianconeri colours and he also had an immediate impact on the club's social media growth just a month after joining.

Results FC collated all the comprehensive data regarding the impact Ronaldo's arrival had on Juve's Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube numbers in terms of impressions and engagements.
344, 281 extra followers on Twitter, 1,710,939 extra likes on Facebook and 3,530,405 more followers on Instagram is just silly.
Nearly 37 million video views on YouTube, 279, 682,100 impressions and the combination of reach and engagement on Facebook are also key highlights.
To put it simply, Ronaldo = numbers.
