Antonio Conte and Chelsea may well have just lifted the Premier League title, but it appears as though plans for next season are already underway.

According to Sport in Spain, Chelsea been have been in touch with Ajax over the possible transfer of 20-year old defender Davinson Sanchez.

The Europa League finalists have a squad brimming with young talent, and Sanchez has been a key figure this term.

The Colombian only joined Ajax from Atletico Nacional in the summer but has made a huge impression in his 45 outings this season.

Barcelona have been courting him for a while but Chelsea are on the hunt for a new defender following the departure of captain John Terry, and are believed to battle the Catalans for Sanchez's signature.

They had earmarked PSG's Marquinhos, a long-time target, as a potential signing but with the Brazilian likely to head to Manchester United according to reports, they have identified Sanchez, who cost Ajax a mere £4 million, is an alternative.

The consensus is that Chelsea have contacted Ajax about a possible deal, with talks set to continue after the Europa League final is over and done with on Wednesday.

Sanchez is still under contract at Ajax until 2021, so it appears Chelsea will have to cough up a decent fee to get him - not that they will mind too much.

Chelsea fans will no doubt be hoping to get a good look at their transfer target on Wednesday evening.
